The first question was which promo you liked the best. Well that one was all over the park, seems everyone had their personal preference and all promos run lately were included in the comments. I think the general response was that any way you could earn more credits would be a winner.

Of course a chance to earn some cash was high on the list as well, especially the referral contests.

Second question was, have you voted for Soaring4Traffic at Affiliate Funnel, what ranking did you give and why?

Over 80% of the responses said they did and that we were being ranked from 7 to 10, with 10 being the most. However, funny thing is that the results from last weeks Affiliate Funnel rankings did not reflect the responses?

Is their some fraud involved or votes not being counted? I would certainly hate to think so and honestly feel its more of a total misunderstanding of the voting process. From some of the responses, I realize that some do not entirely understand how the voting is done or how it works.

First misconception is that you have to be a member to vote. Not true, you can vote without being a member of Affiliate Funnel. Second misconception is that you can rate more than one traffic exchange as a 10 or whatever you wish. Think you do have to be a member for multiple voting though. Not sure.

In other words, if you think that 5 or 10 exchanges deserve a 10, you can vote that way, not rank them from 1 to 10 as you might think. One other misconception is the actual ranking itself. Ranking a site 10 means you think its excellent, ranking it a 1 means its not so good in your opinion. Seems some have that confused.

And the last point made is that simply clicking on the vote image for your exchange does not place the vote. You actually have to scroll down, use the drop down menu to rank a site. By the way, you can vote once per day now.

Just wanted to clear that up for all, no matter which exchange you are voting for. By the way, the ranking report is not the most important thing to a traffic exchange, but it does have its advantages by being noticed and therefore creating more visuals and opportunities for new members to join.

That applies to all ranking sites and downline builders. Anytime a traffic exchange ranks higher on any list, the more it gets noticed and the more popular it will become. Just plain facts.

I know everyone has seen all the emails from every exchange asking for your vote. We have placed a Surfers Choice voting image on your main member page just as a reminder to vote each day and will just leave it at that. We appreciate any vote you give.

And the last question on the survey was, would you like the Sam Eagle, Private Investigator saga to continue?

Got some very funny responses from that, some had no idea what I was talking about but 80% of the responses were, YES we want to know what happens next. So with that in mind we will be ordering the next episode of Sam Eagle!

Lastly, let us never forget the purpose of a traffic exchange. Sometimes we get caught up in the games, chat rooms, surfing contests, and stats spouted about how many pages are being surfed, etc. Frankly none of that matters if you are not getting results.

Are you looking at the pages as you surf, signing up for information or searching for tools and other products that will add to your business? Are you offering products or tools, building your list and therefore growing your business? Are you using splash pages? Building your own unique pages?

A traffic exchange is ALL about advertising. That should be your purpose, your goal and whatever extra is offered from using a traffic exchange is simply window dressing.

By the way, here’s a little secret for you. Three traffic exchanges that I’ve seen the best results from this past week other than S4T of course, are Hit Safari, Hit2Hit, and BootScootin’Traffic. All three are in your traffic exchange downline builder if you’re not currently a member.

There really isn’t one single answer to this question. What works for one may or may not work for others. The only thing I can relate to anyone is what I’ve seen and how the most new referrals come to Soaring4Traffic.

The most successful members with large downlines have a list of subscribers. In other words subscribers with whom they’ve built a relationship and follow their recommendations. My personal favorite list building technique is the IMSF system.

Of course many of our new members found us from advertising in other exchanges. Not only from advertising our provided splash pages but from members creating their own personal splash pages. Some of the most notable examples would be Mark Wieneke, Janine Ambrose, Dan Beaupre and many others.

Many new members also come from the downline builders in other traffic exchanges. They do work so be sure to enter your referral ID’s in any traffic exchange that has downline builders included.

Three of the most effective to date has been Hit2Hit, 4×4Hits and Hit Safari. And lest you forget Soaring4Traffic has over 60 good exchanges in the downline builder which also creates your surf console.

In fact not only traffic exchanges that have downline builders, but other popular programs as well. For instance we receive new members daily from PageSwirl, Traffic Tornando, Traffic Hoopla, Leisure Audio Books and Affiliate Funnel. In other words, check all programs you promote. If they have a downline builder, be sure to enter your info.

There are many other ways to create a steady flow of new members. Blogging, writing articles, reviews and recommendations. Gina Weiss does the TE Corner Blog. My friend John Dilbeck is an accomplished blogger and Squidoo Lens user. Another Squidoo master would be Tim Thomas.

Other advertising methods would be credit based Safelists, and a couple of fairly new and unique programs that I have been using lately, like Downline Builder Direct and Fast Action Ads.

There are literally hundreds of ways and thousands of programs you can use to build your referrals in Soaring4Traffic and other affiliate programs. Hopefully some of the ideas and programs mentioned will provide you with ideas that would work for you.

This post is getting a tad long and has many links to review. Some examples of other members techniques and several programs, many of which have my personal referral links. Get the idea? When writing a review, blog post or article, leave your links when ever possible.

This is by no means a list of all possibilities but hopefully will answer some of your questions on where to start. Building downlines in traffic exchanges can be very beneficial, not only for tons of residual traffic but commissions as well.

Downlines will tend to become lazy at times and inactive. If you have the option to communicate as you do in Soaring4Traffic, email your downline. Don’t go spamming them, just send an email, offer your assistance, let them know what has worked for you. You could offer an incentive of extra credits for their continued surfing activity.

Be sure to give them your name and email address so they can communicate with you.

Many use the traffic exchange downline builder in S4T, which also creates the surf console to generate thousands of credits and referrals in other exchanges for them to advertise Soaring4Traffic. Over 60 of the top exchanges listed now with the ease of controlling and generating traffic to the max.

I have the luxury of seeing where each new member comes from. With the variety of links used and such a broad spectrum of coverage our growth is steady and consistent which is one of the main reasons our ranking, activity and awesome membership is one of the best!

Now, honestly I have no idea how some of these ranking sites work, what data they use to do their ranking, etc. All I know is that it is good for all our members as it tends to bring in a flood of new members each time our rankings increase. Some examples: Traffic Hoopla raised our ranking to #19 this past Tuesday. Our first time in the top 20.

Affiliate Funnel now has us ranked as #20. We have been there before, but usually are ranked around #21. This one I do know how the ranking works, depends solely on YOU the members to vote.

Tim Linden’s Startxchange “Top Traffic Exchanges” has Soaring4Traffic ranked at #12, which has been steady and consistent for several weeks now. As I understand it, this is based entirely on member activity, logins per day on average. Also on Traffic Exchange List, Soaring4Traffic is currently ranked #14, not sure how this ranking works.

There are many more ranking sites, too many to mention, some we are not ranked at all nor get mentioned, but that is not our greatest concern. Our main concern is results for our members, let the ranking chips fall where they may.

Rankings are great and beneficial for our entire membership but they mean absolutely nothing unless members are seeing results. And I’m very proud to say that from the emails and correspondence we are receiving long before these rankings, members are giving S4T a high mark. That is the best ranking possible.

My original reason for this posting was to highlight some of our members and how they effectively promote. Since this post is already getting too long, we will save that for our next post. Wouldn’t you like to know how they do it? Not only within the traffic exchange world but also outside. Stay tuned.

Step 1, download and read the book. Step 2, download the graphics and setup your lead capture pages. Step 3, get those new lead capture pages rotating in traffic exchanges, safelists, and any other advertising venues you have online. Stop procrastinating, get it done!

If you’ve been around the IM (internet marketing) scene for awhile, you’ve most likely heard the term “squeeze page” before, right? Also commonly referred to as a “lead capture page.” At least that’s what I thought.

To be honest… I was shocked that 31.95% said no, which tells me we are not doing enough in our training to educate more people of the value in first using a squeeze page, but more shocked they didn’t know what it was?

Guess more shocking especially among us traffic exchange users is that we continually stress squeeze pages/lead capture pages to build your lists as one if not the most valuable uses for your traffic exchange credits.

In light of this shocking survey data I decided to write this post today to go over the very basics of what a squeeze page is and why you should be using them in your business (if you are not already.)

And for those of you who already use them, pay attention. You will probably learn something too. Make better use of your traffic exchange credits and get much better results from you overall advertising.

A squeeze page which is also known as a “lead capture page” or “name squeeze page” is a simple web page with one purpose; to get your visitor to give you their name and email address so you can follow-up with them. That’s it.

One of the best ways to get someone to opt-in to your squeeze page is by offering something of high perceived value such as a mini ecourse or a highly targeted eBook.

For example, let’s say you are promoting a multi-level marketing business opportunity. The products are great and you are a raving fan.

Most people would just start promoting the website the company supplies. I say no. This is a perfect opportunity to implement the use of a squeeze page and offer something of value first.

That way, you collect the leads, you follow-up with an introduction of yourself and begin building a long lasting business relationship.

In sales, what we are really selling is “us” first, then the product.

You always want to provide value first. Once your prospects warm up to you, then it’s time to ask the right questions to determine if your product or business opportunity can help solve their needs.
