Downline Building

This question is often asked. How do I refer others? How do I build my downlines for Soaring4Traffic? I work hard to refer others but am having no success? This applies to any program where building a downline is truly beneficial.

There really isn’t one single answer to this question. What works for one may or may not work for others. The only thing I can relate to anyone is what I’ve seen and how the most new referrals come to Soaring4Traffic.

The most successful members with large downlines have a list of subscribers. In other words subscribers with whom they’ve built a relationship and follow their recommendations. My personal favorite list building technique is the IMSF system.

Of course many of our new members found us from advertising in other exchanges. Not only from advertising our provided splash pages but from members creating their own personal splash pages. Some of the most notable examples would be Mark Wieneke, Janine Ambrose, Dan Beaupre and many others.

Many new members also come from the downline builders in other traffic exchanges. They do work so be sure to enter your referral ID’s in any traffic exchange that has downline builders included.

Three of the most effective to date has been Hit2Hit, 4×4Hits and Hit Safari. And lest you forget Soaring4Traffic has over 60 good exchanges in the downline builder which also creates your surf console.

In fact not only traffic exchanges that have downline builders, but other popular programs as well. For instance we receive new members daily from PageSwirl, Traffic Tornando, Traffic Hoopla, Leisure Audio Books and Affiliate Funnel. In other words, check all programs you promote. If they have a downline builder, be sure to enter your info.

There are many other ways to create a steady flow of new members. Blogging, writing articles, reviews and recommendations. Gina Weiss does the TE Corner Blog. My friend John Dilbeck is an accomplished blogger and Squidoo Lens user. Another Squidoo master would be Tim Thomas.

Other advertising methods would be credit based Safelists, and a couple of fairly new and unique programs that I have been using lately, like Downline Builder Direct and Fast Action Ads.

There are literally hundreds of ways and thousands of programs you can use to build your referrals in Soaring4Traffic and other affiliate programs. Hopefully some of the ideas and programs mentioned will provide you with ideas that would work for you.

This post is getting a tad long and has many links to review. Some examples of other members techniques and several programs, many of which have my personal referral links. Get the idea? When writing a review, blog post or article, leave your links when ever possible. :)

This is by no means a list of all possibilities but hopefully will answer some of your questions on where to start. Building downlines in traffic exchanges can be very beneficial, not only for tons of residual traffic but commissions as well.

Downlines will tend to become lazy at times and inactive. If you have the option to communicate as you do in Soaring4Traffic, email your downline. Don’t go spamming them, just send an email, offer your assistance, let them know what has worked for you. You could offer an incentive of extra credits for their continued surfing activity.

Be sure to give them your name and email address so they can communicate with you.

How about an extra 100 bonus credits? Share ideas that have been successful for you in the comments below. If you have created a special splash page, blog, squidoo lens, or perhaps a downline building system that has worked for you, tell us about it.

Leave your comments, url link in the proper text box in the comment, and of course your Soaring4Traffic username so I can add your 100 credits. :)

Maybe sharing your ideas will trigger something for other members. By the way, get ready, we are planning a referral contest very soon. Over 9,500 members now and we want to reach 10,000 asap. :)

One way to build your downline is thru Text Ad Exchanges.
here’s a link to a bunch of good ones: http://www.webtrafficjuggernaut.com/vlt/links/54855 they all have “downline building” pages where you can insert your referral links to TE’s, List Builders, etc.

  2. Tim Thomas aka custfaredotcom Says:

The Splash Page is designed to show why Traffic Hoopla is relevant in boosting referrals to Traffic Exchanges in general but most specifically to Soaring 4 Traffic over the next 2-4 weeks. This tool has brought in 3 TE commission paying referrals in last 6 weeks to other TE’s. Traffic Taxis brought in 1,500 extra referrals through Traffic Hoopla their first month in the TOP 20. I expect history to repeat itself here at Soaring 4 Traffic.

I can’t wait to see what we all can do to grow Soaring 4 Traffic to get more eyes on our affiliate pages now that S4T has reached Top 20 Status.

Well lunch break is about over best of luck.

Downline Builders are a favorite tool of mine. My top builder is Affiliate Funnel. It’s a great downline builder. Plus it has a ton of other cool features. The weekly conferences are especially beneficial.

    Hi Ray,
Thanks for being so helpful and honest in dealing this this subject. It is true that a method which seems to work well for one person may give little or no results to someone else.

I would like to mention a system I found a couple of days ago. Of course it is too soon for me to have actual results yet. But I feel it is worthy of mention because it uses several techniques that I haven’t found elsewhere.

It uses PPC style of text ads but these ads are free. The members PPC style ads are placed in the system’s own Newsletter and their Blog. Members do not send emails or inbox messages to other members. ( I really like that)

And just today I re-branded a free report and uploaded it to the system’s own server. They host the report for me and also provided a promo page for the re-branded free report.

Here is one of their short cloaked links to the free report I branded.

    http://www.leadsleap.com/go/14259

I expect this system to work well for me in coming days and hope others might find some benefit in it.

  13. Paul Peeters Says:

    Hi,

I have had 3 rather successfull ways for attracting new signups/referrals :

    1. use a site like Clickthru.com and offer people a measly amount of a few cents to join your program. Most do it for the cents, but many of them (in ALL cases I have tried this) still sign up for real because I forced them to read about the program and they got convinced. They just need an incentive to READ what you’re proposing. This is much more sucessfull than a PTC approach because it is a personal approach !

    2. I have a traffic exchange in which I offer new referrals HALF of the bonus credits I get when THEY signup under me. This also creates a personal sort of bond, because you show you want to help them get started (and that’s the way I present it to them too !). They appreciate the approach and very often mail me afterwards.

    3. Whenever I use a splash page, whilst advertising my main program, I always incorporate a banner of another of my leading programs. This way, I promote TWO programs of which one is promoted in a sort fo “casual” way. And it seems to work. Maybe you can integrate this in your personalised splash pages, so people don’t only promote YOUR site but can at thesame time also promote some program or site of their own. They also already started using this idea in Lords of Traffic by teaming up with a banner exchange, so the idea seems to catch people’s interest.

    Good luck !

  14. Andrew Says:

    Hello,
I’m no pro when it comes to downline building, but I found that creating traffic exchange lists works for me. People are often looking not for one, but for a “list” of traffic exchanges to join. That’s what I did with my Squidoo lens.
I also recently started a traffic exchange list at:
    http://trexlist.com
But since it’s so new, I haven’t had much luck with it.

    Thanks for reading.

    http://traffictornado.com/x/ref.cgi/25435/
S4T is one of the beat and most fun TE’S I have found. if you use all the tools they offer you can really get a step up and save some money because some of this stuff is nt free at other places

  16. Jerry Iannucci Says:

My secret weapon is the downline builder over at NetMarketingForum.

    http://www.netmarketingforum.com

When a new TE launches you are almost guaranteed 1 referral on each of your levels and there’s always a good chance that one of those referrals will be a heavy hitter. I have so many TEs where I have 4 or 5 1st level referrals and 50+ 2nd level because of someone who signed up under me in the NMF downline builder.

    Jerry Iannucci (housedawg)

PS - Affiliate Funnel works great too :)

  17. Bruno Klampfl Says:

Lately I had good success with Text Ad Exchanges. There you can use points (or cash) to send solo ads to other members. Solo ads proved to be effective. Also you can send e-mails to your downline. And a few of them offer 10 level deep downlines.

Also, I use my own splash pages. This one that got me around 1000 downline members is different sites:
    http://splash-pages.co.cc/recommends/FreeLifetimeUpgrades.html

This page is basic HTML. I made it in Notepad. It’s even missing some elements that pages should have (like doctype and similar) but I was lazy. (LOL) Browsers don’t seem to mind that.

2 years ago I started with zero HTML knowledge. I downloaded a few site templates from: http://www.oswd.org and experimented with them. This site was/is awsome hep also: http://www.w3schools.com .

Time used to learn HTML (and possibly PHP) is well spent. And it’s not so hard.

  20. Duane Mobley Says:

The most helpful downline builder for me has been the 1-2 punch of a
crisp splash page directing to my own autoresponder. I have the utility
to create both with Profit Yesterday.

I have been an Executive member for nearly two years but did not take
a serious look at everything I had at my fingertips until just a couple of
    months ago. Go figure!

I can create multiple lead capture pages and multiple autoresponders.

When you have multiple opportunities to promote, this works to your
    best advantage.

Be warned, though: You should commit a great deal of time to learning
everything that PY includes. Don’t do like I did and get distracted before
you have a solid understanding of all that is provided by a single
    membership.

  29. John Dilbeck Says:

    Hi Ray,

I started testing traffic exchanges a couple of years ago when Google cut traffic to one of my sites in half, overnight!

I decided I would find at least three or four reliable ways to bring people to my sites in addition to search engines - which still bring the great majority of visitors.

I tried traffic exchanges and did it the cheap way for several months.

Then, one month, I had more money than time and upgraded to a premium membership in one of the TEs. I also bought a few thousand credits.

The results that month were much higher than any of my previous results, and I still hadn’t really learned about splash pages and downline building.

When I started building a downline in one of the TEs, I noticed that I was getting quite a few extra credits, even when I didn’t have time to surf. I liked that!

Now, after a couple of years, I get thousands of extra credits every month thanks to my downline’s surfing efforts.

When I have the time, I do quite a bit of surfing, myself, and I’m happy to know that my efforts provide credits for the people who referred me.

This month, I cut back on traffic exchanges and dropped my upgraded memberships in all but a half-dozen, all of which I get good results from.

Of all the TEs, I like Soaring4Traffic and ILoveHits the best. I like the owners, their generosity in regards to helping us learn more and get more results from our TE memberships and surfing.

I’ve joined over 100 TEs and I’m going to concentrate on about a dozen from here on out.

I’m getting good results from Squidoo, blogging, my websites, and several social networking sites.

I’ve taken the advice you emailed me a couple of months ago to heart, and I’m currently spending most of my time redoing my marketing plan. Now, I’m basing all my marketing around building a marketing funnel, and my Aweber autoresponder will be at the heart of it.

It’s time to build my lists.

I’ve been hearing people say this for years, but it has only recently become something I really understood. I’m a fairly bright fellow, but I’ve had a lot of trouble with this. I think I know what I’m doing, now. We’ll see.

So, I’ve been practically invisible lately as I do a lot of work offline and set things up for my future marketing efforts.

I also went through a couple of hard months dealing with caring for Mom as her health declined rapidly in August. As much as we didn’t want to do it, I’m no longer caring for her, she’s been admitted to a nursing home because I can no longer provide the level of care she needs now, and it has been a rough transition for our whole family.

Truthfully, I accomplished practically nothing as far as my marketing business was concerned in August and September, but now I’m implementing my new marketing plan.

You have been a great help to me and I appreciate it.

You’ll be seeing a lot more of me on Soaring4Traffic in the coming months, and it will be a very different approach than what I’ve been doing.

    Act on your dream!

The downline builder at SWFHT (Start Working from Home Today - http://www.swfht.com/?carolw44) includes S4T.

I’ve already got one signup from my new list as well (check it out here - http://www.carolwalczak.com.au/site/YHTP.html). Lists really do work! I just added an email about the useful surf console here at S4T to the series, so I’m expecting more signups in the future. (Btw, thanks for the console, it is great!)
