Text Link Advertising
Okay Eagles, today lets talk about text links.
While surfing have you ever noticed the short message that says something like “Convert Credits and this Link Could be Yours”?
Wording may be different on some traffic exchanges but they all mean the same. It’s telling you that no one has any text links entered with impressions assigned. In other words there are no text links in rotation. 
What an opportunity when you see this! Your first reaction should be to immediately go to your member page, click on the My Text Links menu button and either enter some text links or assign impressions to ones you already have. You just might be the only one rotating text links at that time.
Yes, it might take a few seconds to do this and it might take thousands of impressions for results, but hey, these little jewels are cheap and very easy to set up. Never under estimate the value! Conversion rates from credits to link impressions vary but most are pretty high. On Soaring4Traffic in particular, these links show up not only on the surf bar but on various other pages including the Talon newsletter which is archived.
Click thru rates on text links depend solely on your creativity with the few letters you have to create curiosity. Something simple, your name, even a bunch of symbols or letters that might make someone curious enough to click the link. You’re an advertiser, be creative!
What inspired me to write this? Well today when logging into the first four exchanges to start my surf sessions, three of them had no text links being shown, just the generic message…lol Guess what, my text links were rotating in all of them within seconds and I was the only one.
This made me very curious about results. Within the first 30 minutes, checking back on each of these exchanges and yes Soaring4Traffic was one of them, I had 11 clicks and one subscriber sign up for one of my lists. Not bad for a few seconds of work and no expense whatsoever.
Guess my whole point to this post is don’t forget about these extra cheap advertising options, you might be surprised. By the way banners fall into the same category but will have to say that most of you Eagles do a great job in keeping your banners in rotation.
So today for the first 5 members that post a comment here and promise to use them, you will get 1,000 text link impressions added to your Soaring4Traffic account.
But wait, thats not all. If you are a member of my “Pro” only exchange, ProClickExchange.com, will add 50 credits to your account there so you can convert some of them to link impressions if you wish, conversion rate is very high.
Side note: Pro Click Exchange link impressions can be longer than most, plus they display much better on the surf bar than any exchange I’ve seen to date.
Be sure you post your user ID for either or both exchanges for proper crediting.

Hi Ray,
I like text ads and use them but I remember there was a problem with editing them last year? I must go and check and see if it’s still there
I suppose I could just delete the one I want to alter and do it again though?

Oh, Sandy the issue with editing link impressions was repaired shortly after you brought it to my attention. Posted a reply in our forum to let you know, guess you must have missed it?

You could have mentioned that there’s an exchange that gives away tens of thousands of free text link credits every single day.

Text text links work best. Period.
Banners and images are not as powerful though supposed to but many are “blind” to images because of over exposure to them.

Thanks for the response everyone. Posted this yesterday to see if anyone was actually following the blog posts and rotated it as the start page on S4T for people surfing…guess I know now that response truly comes from sending an email…
So happy for the response, gave everyone (not only the first 5) the 1,000 text links and not stopping here…got plenty to go around so for the next 10 people that post, you will also get 1,000 text links, but ya gotta promise to use them.

Hey Ray,
I can verify that text links work. I use them on all the TEs that offer them (well, all where I’m a member, that is).
I get pretty good results with banners, too, but it takes thousands of banner impressions to start seeing significant results. That’s why I upgrade on the best TEs - like Soaring 4 Traffic.
