The final words for 2007 only. We have so much more to do and talk about in the coming year. The Eagles have just begun, but what a great start we’ve had to date.

As you see in our previous post, the 5,000 member mark was reached on Christmas day. Such a great feeling to reach a goal, but more importantly want to see each of you reach your goals for 2008! Start making plans, setting your goals, be realistic but don’t hold back.

Our main goal for 2008 is to provide the best service, the most result oriented traffic exchange online, but we need your help. You make a traffic exchange program what it truly is. Not only do we need your surfing activity, but also giving respect and reasonable views of other members sites.

See something interesting, sign up to receive more information. See products you might be interested in, communicate with the owner to get more details. Might just be something that fits into your plans for this coming year!

Hope everyone had a great Christmas day, stayed safe and enjoyed themselves immensely! It was truly a day of celebration and joy for me, my family and friends. Christmas Eve is also my daughters birthday!

You did it! We hit the 5,000 member mark on Christmas day at 9:38 A.M. server time! Member number 5000 joined through the Leisure Audio Books downline builder link owned by Kevin Anderson! Dave Lim is our lucky new member! So, do downline builders work?

Both Dave and Kevin have been awarded 5,000 credits per our contest giveaway. Huge congratulations to both! Yes, for those that know about Kevin, his account is still active and rotating at Soaring4Traffic. That was my promise to his family, business partners and friends.

What can I say, everyone worked very hard to reach this goal of 5,000 by Christmas and made it happen, right on cue, what a great Christmas present you have provided. It’s almost as if the script was written for a movie. This will surely be another wonderful Christmas to remember for me!

Christmas for me has always been a time to spend with family and friends. A time to reflect on the joys of the past, lost loved ones, old friends and all the good times we have enjoyed this time of year. But with all that, we never forget why we set aside this special day called Christmas!

Effective Use of Free Traffic Exchanges To Build Traffic to Your Web Site by: Donovan Baldwin

Almost every experienced Internet marketer has at one time or another used free traffic exchanges. This is not surprising as they offer the promise free website traffic to people generally with little funds to invest and not much experience, and it just seems to be so easy to sit there, click away, and watch the hits roll in. Sooner or later, however, most of us begin to feel that either we are doing something wrong or free traffic exchanges just don’t work!

Oh, they deliver free website traffic, all right, but nobody buys into our product or program. We soon figure out that the people looking at our page have seen it before, are bored by it, and are just looking at it, if they ARE looking at it at all, just to pass the time until the next click is due. Really, they are probably more interested in what is going on with their web page than spending time worrying about ours. Eventually, most people begin to feel that it seems so pointless and they drop out and go try something else.

Now, there ARE people using free traffic exchanges to generate real traffic, visits by interested people, to their website, only they have learned a few tricks to make this happen. They have learned to avoid some of the more common mistakes that most people make when using free traffic exchanges.

1. They don’t use their real page. Certainly, the occasional offer or web page is either so universal in topic or so tempting in some way or another that it does okay…at least for a while. However, think about it. After a while, you began to recognize many of the web pages you were shown…over and over. You even began to think to yourself, “There’s that one again. That’s the seventh time I’ve seen it in the last hour.” That is, you might think that if you haven’t already zoned out.

By the way, that “seventh” time may actually be a first time. You realize, of course, that perhaps you have actually been looking at seven other members of the same affiliate program who are promoting their affiliate link. Ever see “your” site roll by? Maybe it wasn’t “your” site!

Part of the game for a successful Internet marketing experience is to stand out in some way, and this is especially true at free traffic exchanges. If you want to stand out, you are going to have to offer something that catches the eye of the other surfer and encourages him or her to click over to your real site. I am not going to go into a discussion of lead capture pages and splash pages right now, but a quick search on the Internet will provide more info.

They sometimes don’t even send people to their “sales” or “pitch” page directly from the traffic exchange. After all, if you can offer someone some kind of gift just for dropping by that helps predispose them to look more favorably on other offers you present than they would if they just show up at a sales site.

2. They use the best free traffic exchanges. For a newcomer, or even for an old internet marketing pro, figuring out which traffic exchanges are the best ones to use can be a challenge. Rest assured, however, that it can be done and it is worth the effort. There are websites that do keep track of this sort of thing, and it is well worth your while to track those down and avail yourself of their knowledge. The good news is that these are generally free and provide you with additional information about free traffic exchanges as well as the opportunity and tools to help build your downline in the various traffic exchanges.

3. They build a downline. Remember the hours you sat in front of your computer clicking away only to find that you have generated just a few hits to your site? Well, to make use of the relatively untargeted visits provided by free traffic exchanges, you need to have hundreds of hits…perhaps even thousands. There is no way most people can or will sit there for the hours needed to generate web site traffic in the volume required. In fact, there are just two ways; buy it or build a downline. Having hundreds of people in your downline at any one site, maybe even thousands, can provide the hits you need for free.

By the way, this brings us back to being with the best traffic exchanges as they will usually have the biggest base of people to view your site, will be the easiest to recruit people to, and may even allow you to buy a downline, as in the case of WebbizInsider.com.

4. They pay for services. This requires a little savvy shopping around, but once the Internet marketing professional has his or her free traffic exchange system up and running, they are willing, at some exchanges at least, to pay to upgrade to a professional level. Many traffic exchanges will allow an upgraded member to collect commissions on purchases made by their downline in addition to getting credits when they surf. Plus, an upgraded membership often includes extra credits as well. With a big downline, this could be a business in itself.

5. They experiment. Maybe I should say that they test. One thing works good at one exchange but not as well as another. It may be only the background color is turning people off, or it may be the whole design of the site. Maybe the product or offer is just not catching on. One test of a product is “did I like it”, but, even so, not everyone is going to be interested in what YOU are interested in.

6. They treat their traffic exchange membership like a business. They take the stance of selling the traffic exchange they are using just as they would do marketing their main product or service. They will keep records, trying in some way to track which exchanges and which pages seem to be providing the best results.

Shock and awe again? Seems to be the popular thing now to attract attention and shock someone into reading your report or signing up to get more info. DEATH?

Of course, we all realize that Internet Marketing, Adsense, Network Marketing, and now Traffic Exchanges are not dead. For that matter not really in bad shape either. In my opinion just a very negative headline to market another product.

I remember the first time I saw one of the “Death” marketing sites, was so disappointed. Here I was just beginning to understand Internet marketing after a couple of years and all of a sudden it was dead. Wow, what had I done but wasted my time? Very depressing, until of course I read it..lol

Don’t get me wrong, have nothing against marketers using shock and awe to get attention and peak interest for their project. But, couldn’t we use some other word than Death? Has such a finality to it and very depressing to me.

If you’ve ever lost a loved one, friend, or a comrade in battle, the word “Death” is not something you care to hear about, unless of course you are one of those that read the obituaries every day for your kicks?

No folks, none of the reports of death are true in the factual sense. Each and every one of them have used the headline to promote a new way, a new product, new idea, or simply to entice you to sign up and subscribe to their newsletter. Nothing more.

Can you imagine how I felt when the last wave came out. Death of Network Marketing, then Death of Traffic Exchanges? Might as well throw up my hands and forget everything, right?

Here I am with a traffic exchange barely over six months online, growing every day, nearing 5,000 members, now they are dead? Not only that, just purchased another one that has been online since 2003 and spending the money to do a complete makeover in preparation for re-launch. More on that when the time is right…

Just to make sure you understand, traffic exchanges are not dead. New ideas, new ways of adding more options, different looks, different scripts and more new owners are a sure thing, but death isn’t even an option!

Nothing wrong with new ideas. Nothing wrong with new techniques. Change is good and keeps the industry thriving, not dying!

So instead of the Death of anything, would like to see the Death of Death Marketing. Why not use a different word? Like maybe Birth, Re-Born, Re-visited, New Wave, or just plain new idea or New Technique? Ah, but that wouldn’t attract near as much attention, huh?

Anyway, just wanted to voice my opinion. Maybe I’m the only one that feels this way, but at least now I feel better writing it down.

Soaring4Traffic is not dead, ProClickExchange is rising from the dust and neither is anywhere near death. In fact they have just begun to SOAR!

Would love to hear other opinions, maybe I’m just all wet.

Seems there are a lot of referral contests during the month of December in the traffic exchange world. Referral contests are another good way to increase your earnings online. Just an extra bonus added to your benefits for referring others.

As you should all know by now, I encourage list building as one of your main objectives when using traffic exchanges. Well the Captain of Hit Pirate has just launched a new site which offers some detailed instructions and tools to accomplish this.
