Soaring4Traffic Click Accuracy

Just wanted to post about another cool tool just added to Soaring4Traffic. This is sort of a bad news, good news post.  Mostly good! :)

As you well know, we are constantly checking to make sure that sites in our system are meeting standards, i.e. not harmful, rude, or break terms of service. We also have verification tests to ensure that views are being done by real people and not software someone has created.

In the past, our verification questions were the major test to verify that the clicks were real. Questions would show up occasionally that had to be answered true or false. This was suppose to indicate that a real person was surfing because he/she had to answer correctly. After 10 wrong errors the person was automatically suspended, reviewed and notified.

Information received has indicated that a few may in fact have accessed a way to get around those questions. How sad that people would want to cheat others out of their hard earned credits.

Now for the good news. Remember the post before this one about SurfingGuard being added? Well Josh Abbott has done it again. As a SurfingGuard protected traffic exchange Josh included another “cool tool” to help us detect those that might wish to abuse the surfing verification tests.

We now have a clicking accuracy test installed, has actually been running a couple of days. What this does is keep track of how accurate the clicks are when choosing to move to the next site. The statistics provided give us an accurate and immediate warning when stats reach a level in question. There have also been other measures implemented to ensure your credits are being used properly. This one we will keep secret as we do not want to give cheaters any heads up on how to get around it. :)

Please understand, everyone makes a mistake occasionally when clicking for the next site, me included. There is no penalty for these mistakes, only human nature. Clicking the wrong Eagle can happen and will to almost everyone some time or another. Don’t worry, no penalty.

All of the current verification tests will remain as they are, this is just an extra measure of security.

What this does do however is give me another way to give away some free bonus credits. :)

Let’s call this an accuracy contest. Now I check these stats daily, sometimes more than once. However to make this contest fair, it will run for an entire week. Maybe you might have a bad day, but the next day everything is shall we say, clicking for you…lol

Rules: You must have a combined total of at least 300 sites viewed in a week’s time. The top 5 with the best accuracy percentage will get 100 credits each. Of course 100% is the highest possible, but not required unless the top 5 all reach 100% accuracy. If we have more than 5 with 100% accuracy, we will draw from those to determine the 5 winners.

Contest has already started and since this is Wednesday, will be a short week. Prizes will be awarded each Monday for the previous week. Still plenty of time to get those 300 sites viewed to qualify. :)

Sounds fair to me, what do you think? Please leave your comments below as always.
